Shipping Info

How long will my beef stay frozen during shipping?

Our packaging is designed to keep beef frozen for up to 48 hours. We ship early in the week to avoid weekend delays and ensure timely delivery.

How is the beef packaged for shipping?

All beef is vacuum-sealed and frozen to lock in freshness. Occasionally, certian products are double shrink wrapped instead of vacuum-sealed. We pack orders with dry ice inside eco-friendly insulated packaging to ensure your beef arrives in safe condition.

When will my order ship?

Order cut-off is Monday at 8:00 am PST. Orders placed prior to 8:00 am PST on Monday will be processed and shipped Tuesday or occasionally Wednesday. Orders received after 8:00 am Monday will ship the following week.

We use Next Day Air and ground shipping depending on the destination of the order. Beef will typically arrive within 1-3 days of leaving our ranch.

Shipping Method

We ship our beef frozen to ensure it arrives in the best condition. All orders are carefully packaged with enough dry ice for the planned days in transit. We use eco-friendly insulated liners to maintain optimal temperature during transit. We currently offer shipping to the lower 48 U.S. states. Depending on the order size, multiple boxes might be shipped.

*We highly recommend upgrading your shipping to Next Day Air or Next Day Air Saver at checkout to ensure your order reaches you in perfect condition, especially in summer months.

Can weather affect my shipment?

Because we are committed to delivering beef of the highest quality, we may postpone shipments when inclement weather or carrier disruptions create a risk of delivery delays. Our team closely monitors shipping conditions and reserves the right to adjust shipping dates when necessary to ensure your order arrives in peak condition. If a delay is required, we will notify you as soon as possible.

Shipping Costs

UPS shipping costs are calculated at checkout and depend on where you are geographically located. Shipping can get expensive so check the cost prior to completing checkout.

There is no dry ice in the box. Is it still safe to eat?

Your order should arrive partially or completely frozen. If your beef arrived without any remaining dry ice, there is no need for concern - the dry ice simply sublimates in transit.

What if my beef arrives fully thawed?

While rare, if your beef arrives fully thawed but still cold to the touch (below 40°F), it's safe to refreeze or cook immediately. If you have any concerns about your order's condition, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Dry-Aged beef?

Dry aging is a traditional process that enhances the flavor and tenderness of beef. During aging, the beef is stored in a carefully controlled environment where natural enzymes break down muscle fibers and moisture slowly evaporates. This results in beef that is more tender and develops a richer, more concentrated flavor. At Pudding River Beef, our beef is dry-aged for 14 days to provide an exceptional eating experience while preserving the natural qualities of our American Wagyu.

Do you vaccinate your cattle?

Yes, we follow standard best practices for control of things like pink eye and Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) to keep our animals happy and healthy.

We do not use MRNA vaccines - they are not available commercially.

Do you use antibiotics?

We use antibiotics but only on an as-needed basis. The use of antibiotics is very rare and any animal that is in our beef program and is treated with antibiotics, is removed.

How should I store my beef?

Keep beef frozen at 0°F or below until you're ready to use it. For best quality, use within 6-12 months of freezing. Thaw in the refrigerator 24-48 hours before cooking. Bring beef to room temperature prior to cooking to achieve optimal uniformity while cooking.

What cuts are available?

We offer a wide variety of premium dry-aged American Wagyu cuts including ribeye, filet mignon, New York strip, sirloin, ground beef, brisket, roasts, and specialty cuts. Browse our collections to see our full selection.

What is American Wagyu?

American Wagyu is a premium breed of cattle that combines the best of both worlds - traditional Japanese Wagyu genetics crossed with American cattle breeds like Black Angus. This crossbreeding results in beef with exceptional marbling, tenderness, and rich, buttery flavor that's characteristic of Wagyu, while maintaining the robust beef taste that American consumers love.

The intense marbling (intramuscular fat) in American Wagyu creates a melt-in-your-mouth texture and delivers unparalleled juiciness and flavor. American Wagyu is an upgrade from conventional beef but offers a more accessible price point than full-blood Japanese Wagyu while still providing a luxury dining experience. It's perfect for special occasions or when you want to elevate your everyday meals with restaurant-quality beef at home.

What makes your American Wagyu beef special?

What sets Pudding River Beef Company's American Wagyu apart is our commitment to raising cattle with exceptional care right here on our farm. Our Wagyu cattle are fed balanced diets using locally-sourced hay and grains, ensuring superior marbling, tenderness, and rich flavor in every cut. We prioritize animal welfare and sustainable farming practices, giving our cattle the time and attention they need to develop that signature buttery texture and intense marbling Wagyu is known for.

All of our beef is completely free of antibiotics and growth hormones - just pure, premium American Wagyu raised the right way. From our pastures to your table, we take pride in every step of the process to deliver beef that's not only delicious but raised with integrity. When you choose Pudding River Beef, you're getting ranch-direct, premium quality beef from a family farm with a passion for raising beef.

Can I return my order?

Due to food safety regulations and the perishable nature of frozen beef products, we're unable to accept returns once an order has shipped.

However, your satisfaction is very important to us. If your beef arrives in unsatisfactory condition - such as warm, damaged packaging, or any quality concerns - please contact us within 24 hours of delivery and we'll work with you to make it right. We stand behind the quality of our products and want you to have a great experience with Pudding River Beef Company.
